Development
The creation of this product has evolved through a long development cycle. One of the main goals for the product is to achieve a very high degree of quality before releasing a new version.

To achieve this high degree of quality each release of the program has been exposed to extensive internal testing. Afterwards each release has been exposed to beta testing by testers from the internet community.

 

Version 3.1 Development-log

New features in Pocket Diet Tracker 3.1:

  • Colors of readonly fields in the diary has been made easier to read.
  • Nutient Database is now editable when selecting foods in the diary
  • Nutritient database now supports only 2 folder levels.
  • Required calories entered in the Options dialog is now reflected directly in the diary view
  • Added ability to multiple reports in reports view
  • New report added that shows totals for a period of time together with required values for the same period.

Bug fixes in Pocket Diet Tracker 3.1:

  • Part of the database access to the Nutrient database has been rewritten.
  • Fixed problem with foods being placed in wrong folder during import. The problem appeared if some subfolders had the same name.

 

Version 3.0 Development-log

New features in Pocket Diet Tracker 3.0:

  • Summary fields in the nutrient diary can now be customized
  • Nutrient Diary is renamed to Diary
  • The Weight Tracker view has been simplified. Calorie fields has been removed and the area of the graph has increased.
  • Profile Settings view has been removed and is now replaced by the Profile Settings wizard that can be reached from the Tools menu.
  • BMI dialog has changed to a graphical representation.
  • The BMI dialog is called from the Profile Settings wizard
  • Exercise database has been extended with more exercises.
  • Harris-benedict formula now calculates the recommended calories based on the current weight instead of the start weight of the diet.
  • Ability to enter daily calorie goal manually has been added to the Options dialog.
  • Color scheme and layout of the different screens has been improved
  • Order of columns in Diary is now saved for the next time Pocket Diet Tracker is started

Bug fixes in Pocket Diet Tracker 3.0:

  • Error when searching Nutrient Database, if more than 3 levels of folders exists, has been resolved
  • Problem with multiply folders appearing in the Nutrient Database is solved

 

Version 2.41 Development-log

New features in Pocket Diet Tracker 2.41:

  • Displayed meals in the Nutrient Diary view is sorted, such that the last entered meals are at top
  • New button for adding a new food to the Nutrient Database while selecting a food in the Nutrient Diary
  • Search function improved so that search words are trimmed from spaces
  • Search function improved so that it is possible to search on several words in the food name in arbitrary order
  • The last added serving size to a food will automatically become the default serving size
  • Export report is extended to include all meals and exercises entered

Bug fixes in Pocket Diet Tracker 2.41:

  • Warnings dialog is now shown, if enabled, after entering af meal in the Nutrient Diary from the Recent Meals list

 

Version 2.30 Development-log

New features in Pocket Diet Tracker 2.30:

  • Calorie column in the Nutrient Diary view changed place with the Amount/Time spent column, so that it is visible without having to right scroll the listbox.
  • Added colors to the listbox in the Nutrient Diary view.
  • Added a new "Recent Meals" screen in the Nutrient Diary. When the "New meal" buttons dropdown arrow is activated, a list of the 50 most recently used meals are displayed. Selecting a meal from this list, will instantly log the meal in the Nutrient Diary, with the last used serving size and numbers of servings.

Bug fixes in Pocket Diet Tracker 2.30:

  • Corrected error when exporting a report. Weight values was exported in kg, even if Pocket Diet Tracker was set up to use US measures.
  • Problem with import of custom Nutrient Databases solved. The import function failed to import foods, with a reference weight different from 100 grams, correctly.
Version 2.22 Development-log

Bug fixes in Pocket Diet Tracker 2.22:

  • Problem with disappearing entries in the Nutrient Diary was resolved again. The error occured if the Weight field in the Nutrient Diary had focus and the Weight Tracker view where selected from the Views menu.

 

Version 2.21 Development-log

Bug fixes in Pocket Diet Tracker 2.21:

  • Problem with disappearing entries in the Nutrient Diary is resolved. The error occured if the Weight field in the Nutrient Diary had focus and the Graphs view where selected from the Views menu.

 

Version 2.2 Development-log

New features in Pocket Diet Tracker 2.2:

  • Export report in the reports view. All nutritional values for a period of time is exported to a CSV file that can be imported in to MS Excel on a desktop pc.
  • Import Nutrient Database changed so existing entries are not deleted. New entries are appended to the database. Entries existing in both the database and the CSV file is updated from the CSV file.
  • New function to delete Nutrient Database added.
  • If Pocket Diet Tracker is set up to exhange data with MySportTraining, calorie expenditure is now displayed in the Nutrient Diary view, as the top row of the Meals/Exercise list.
  • Pocket Diet Tracker and MySportTraining now exchanges weight entries. If a weight entry for a date is changed in one program, the change is instantly reflected in the corresponding weight field in the other program.
  • Trial period for the evaluation version is changed from 21 days to 15 days.
  • Restore Nutrient Database function added to the tools menu. This function only restores the Nutrient Database part of the last performed backup of all data in Pocket Diet Tracker.

Bug fixes in Pocket Diet Tracker 2.2:

  • Link to Pocket Diet Tracker help added to the general Windows CE "Help Contents" help page, which contains links to help to all programs.
  • The percentage values for protein, fat, carbohydrate and alcohol, now sums up to 100 percent. This was a bug introduced in version 2.1.
  • Format of CSV file ("pocket diet tracker.csv") changed to US format. This CSV file can be edited in MS Excel on a US desktop pc.

 

Version 2.1 Development-log

New features in Pocket Diet Tracker 2.1:

  • Daily reports view changed to Reports view. It is now possible to average nutritional values for any date range
  • Pocket Diet Tracker now supports exhange of calorie intake and expenditure with MySportTraining from Exposé Corp. The two programs integrates seamlessly with each other, making it the perfect healt/fitness solution for the Pocket PC. Use Pocket Diet Tracker to track you calorie intake and use MySportTraining to track your calorie expenditure

 

Version 2.0 Development-log
New features in Pocket Diet Tracker 2.0:
  • Search function in Nutrient Database
  • Tracking of user defined parameters, like pulse, blood pressure, bodyfat percentage and more
  • Ability to setup goals for user defined parameters
  • New graph module to visualize all nutrients, weight readings, exercise expenditure and user defined parameters over a period of time
  • Ability to enter calories for user defined foods instead of it being calculated
  • Recommended values in Dayli Report is adjusted to time on day, when Pocket Diet Tracker is operated in real time mode
  • Backup and restore function to save logged food intake, exercises and data in nutrient database
  • Trial version now saves data when the program exists
  • Database prepared for additional vitamins and minerals in fureture releases


Bug fixes in Pocket Diet Tracker 2.0:

  • TAB-order of fields is adjusted for use with add-on keyboards
  • Problem with multiple profiles solved
  • Problem with loss of data in Nutrient Database solved

 

Version 1.2 Development-log

New features in Pocket Diet Tracker 1.2:

  • Tap and hold on a food in the Nutrient Database will bring up a food-label
  • Ability to change Time Spent in the Exercise Database using the software keyboard
  • Names in the Meals Pattern dialog changed from UK to US
  • Add colors and lines to the Daily Report view
  • Extended Nutrient Database consisting of +4500 foods released

Bug fixes in Pocket Diet Tracker 1.2:

  • When folder name is edited in the Nutrient Database and the user taps ENTER the Nutrient Database is closed
  • Pocket Diet Tracker exits if the cursor is placed in the Weight field in the Nutrient Diary and the user presses ENTER
  • The weight entered in the Nutrient Diary is not saved if the users exits Pocket Diet Tracker just after the value is entered
  • Scroll bar does not appear in the Warnings dialog if too many warnings appear

 

Version 1.1 Development-log

New features in Pocket Diet Tracker 1.1:

  • Ability to copy foods in the Nutrient Database added
  • Nutrient Database adjusted so that the most common serving size will be the default one
  • Security implemented so that it is not possible to alter the nutritional values imported from the USDA database
  • Head-lines added to all dialogs
  • Toolbars changed to comply with the Pocket PC GUI

Bug fixes in Pocket Diet Tracker 1.1:

  • Dates are wrong for some time zones
  • Added help to the Exercise Database
